About the artist

Development and refinement of my creative process has involved many years of persistent experimentation which continues to evolve, employing an extensive range of tools and media including collage, ink, charcoal, oil and acrylic paint.

Influenced by the methods of Expressionists such as Frank Auerbach, my techniques include the addition and subtraction of multiple layers as well as gouging and scraping that result in rich textural works that reveal their creative histories. Inspired also by Jackson Pollock, my paintings emulate and evoke their associated subject matter narratives, often emitting a high infusion of energy through use of highly gestural and expressive brushwork.

My commitment going forward is an endeavour to continue using my artistic voice through my work to raise awareness, deliver justice and bring about lasting social change.
